If you are unemployed and have experience in an Information Technology (IT) or Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field, upSKILL could help you enhance the skills you need to get hired and move your career forward. upSKILL is a consortium of colleges, Workforce Investment Boards, industry partners and professional associations in northern New Jersey that has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to pay the tuition and fees for courses that build on your current skills to qualify you for IT & STEM jobs. 7/29 - 12/27 NJ Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation Offers Free Tours

Our veterans have given so much for this country and they want to keep their history and stories alive for future generations.  So The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation is offering free tours of the Museum and Memorial the first Saturday of every month.  Honoring the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, each tour will be led by Vietnam Veterans and begin at 11am – 1pm.  The Vietnam War Memorial is located at 1 Memorial Lane in Holmdel, NJ.  For more information visit

10/25 Lake Hopatcong Elks Zombie Crawl

The Lake Hopatcong Elks Zombie Crawl will be held on Saturday October 25th. The crawl starts at the Lake Hopatcong Elks Lodge, 201 Howard Blvd, at 4pm and lasts until 6pm. 10/26 Coming Home Rescue’s 4th Annual Halloween Party

Coming Home Animal Rescue’s 4th Annual Halloween Party and Costume Parade will happen on October 26th from 11am-2pm at Parks Lake on Mt. Hope Road in Rockaway! Admission is just $5 for adults and free for children and dogs.  During the course of the day, there will be 50/50 raffle, Halloween themed photos for you and your pup will be available, $8 for one or $13 for two.  There will also be an adoption village where you can find your best friend and take them home.  Advanced registration can be made via email at or by phone at 888-405-7221

10/31 Downtown Summit Trick or Treating

Downtown Summit is ready for All Hallows Eve this year!  Local businesses have tons of treats and a couple of tricks here and there for you to enjoy!  On October 31st, walk the streets of Downtown Summit to visit all the different merchants between 2:30pm and 5pm for some trick or treating!

11/1 Lenape Valley High School 40 Year Reunion

Attention ALL Lenape Regional High School alumni!  Your alma mater is celebrating its 40th year reunion on November 1st!  All alumni, pre-school students, staff, administrators that have attended the school since it opened in 1974 are welcome!  There will be tours, shows at the planetarium, guest speakers, band and chorus concerts and a buffet dinner!  If you would like to attend you can register by visiting the school’s website at

11/2 Villa Walsh Annual Senior Sisters Christmas Boutique Extravaganza

On November 2nd, the Villa Wash will host their Annual Senior Sisters Christmas Boutique Extravaganza at mother Ninetta Hall from Noon through 5pm.  With unique gifts for all, crafts, a 50/50 raffle, money raffle, baked goods, and so much more. The Sisters have even been crocheting afghans and other items for purchase!  The boutique will be held at Villa Walsh on 455 Western Avenue in Morristown.

11/2 Gilda’s Club of Northern New Jersey’s Laugh Out Loud 5

They say laughter is the best medicine.  On November 2nd, Gilda’s Club of Northern New Jersey presents Laugh Out Loud 5 at the Bergen Academies Auditorium located at 200 Hackensack Ave in Hackensack.  This showcases some of the greatest comedic minds such as Gilbert Gottfried, Caroline Rhea, Reese Waters, Eddie Brill, and many more.   Show time is 7pm. This evening of great comedy will help benefit Gilda’s Club of Northern New Jersey in their support of cancer patients throughout the community.  Tickets range from $29-$59 and can be purchased at

11/3 Morristown Medical Center Pet Therapy Conference

Morristown Medical Center is hosting the second annual Pet Therapy Conference on November  3rd from 8:30-3:30 pm at the Morristown Hyatt. The keynote speaker will be John Gorgan, author of the book, Marley and Me. Registration is 100 dollars and closes October 21st. 11/4 How to Use Digitized Newspapers for Genealogical Research

On November 4th at 7pm at the Morris County Library, the Morris Area Genealogy Society presents How to Use Digitized Newspapers Genealogical Research. Genealogist and historian Brian Armstrong will discuss important information that can be found in newspapers, personal notices (gossip columns) business items and other important documents.  Mr. Armstrong will also provide an overview of available free and purchased resources for accessing digital newspapers. 11/7 - 11/8 Pediatric Nutrition Conference

A pediatric nutrition conference will be held at the Octagon at Mahoney Library on the campus of the College of Saint Elizabeth on November 7th and 8th.  The conference will begin at 8:30 each morning and focus on enhanced nutrition assessment, identifying factors affecting physical growth and development and discuss guidelines for the nutritional needs of patients with specific diagnosis such as cystic fibrosis or oncology.  To register or for more information you can visit the College of Saint Elizabeth’s website,

11/8 7th Annual Armistice Ball

The 7th Annual Armistice Ball will be held on November 8th from 8pm through 11pm and will feature early 20th century jazz played by the Metropolitan Club Orchestra!  The concert will take place at the Madison Community House located on 25 Cook Ave in Madison.  There will also be a dance workshop beginning at 2pm for those who wish to learn.  Tickets are $35 in advance; 40 at the door, $15 in advance or $20 at the door with student ID.  For more information visit

11/14 Ukrainian Youth Association Tricky Tray

Join the Ukrainian American Youth Association on November 14th at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center located on 60 North Jefferson Road in Whippany for a fun night and a tricky tray!  Doors will be at 6pm and the drawings begin at 7:30pm with a light dinner, coffee, and dessert served.  Admission is only $35 which includes the meal, program book and sheet of tickets!  To reserve your table of 10 or more information call 973-590-9456.

11/15 5th Annual NJ Walk for Tourette Syndrome

The 5th Annual NJ Walk for Tourette Syndrome will take place on November 15th at Borough Park in Mendham.  Borough Park is located on Park Ave in Mendham.  Registration begins at 9AM.  If you register in advance the fee will be $22.50 and day of will be $25. 11/21 - 11/22 Women’s Club of Morristown Annual Holiday Bazaar

Join the Woman’s Club of Morristown on November 21st and 22nd for their Annual Holiday Bazaar Fundraiser!  The bazaar will be held at the Dr. Lewis Condict House located on 51 South Street in Morristown!  All proceeds will support the WCM’s Scholarship Fund and the NJ State Federation of Women’s Clubs and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  If you’d like to help the WCM stock the bazaar, you can donate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and New Year’s items during regular business hours Monday through Friday from now until November 10th.  Donations, must be clean, undamaged, and if you are donating electrical items, they should be in good working condition.  If you would like more information on the bazaar you can visit their website at

11/21 Morris County Sherif's Office 275th Anniversary Gala

This year, 2014, marks the 275th anniversary of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, established 37 years before the official birth of the United States of America. We are reaching out to everyone to be a part of the 275th Anniversary Gala celebration, which will be held on November 21,2014. This formal event will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, music, and dancing. Entertainment will also be provided by comedian/actor Jim Breuer. Tickets are $100 per person and $900 for a table of ten. 11/22 Big One-Stop Shopping Opportunity

11/29 Wallington Fire Department’s 13th Annual Holiday Parade

On Saturday November 29th, the Wallington Fire Department will host its 13th Annual Holiday Parade, the largest parade in the nation of lighted and decorated fire trucks and floats.  Beginning at 6pm, the 2500 participants that includes fire departments and organizations from the Tri-State area.  The 2hour parade begins on Mt. Pleasant and Roehrs Drive in Wallington and crosses the finish line at Veteran’s Monument on Union Boulevard
